Year 2 Blog 2025/26

 This week we went outside for our Science lesson. We went hunting for mini beasts!

 Rowan class certainly enjoyed their teddy bears picnic last week! The children enjoyed learning about the bears Benji and Balu from Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and we checked what they were up to via the webcams. The children had a surprise visit from a bear in the afternoon, all in all a bear-illiant day! 

 Rowan class had a fantastic day celebrating ‘International Day’. Throughout the day we explored the country of Mexico. We learnt about its climate, traditions and culture. We designed posters, produced some lovely art inspired by Frida Kahlo and made tea light holders inspired by the ‘Day of the Dead’ traditions. 

We had such a fantastic day yesterday at Blue Reef Aquarium. We had a great talk all about sharks and even managed to see some of them being fed! We saw stingrays, sharks, turtles and, of course, a firm favourite was the axolotls! All of the children listened so well to their adults and were a credit to the school throughout the day. They showed excellent behaviour, asked lots of thoughtful questions and demonstrated great enthusiasm as they explored the aquarium.
