Year 2 Blog 2025/26

 In Rowan class, the children have been creating some lovely mono prints inspired by the artist Xgaoc’o X’are. The children enjoyed using charcoal paper to create their prints. 

 In Art this week we used charcoal paper to print our African themed designs based on the artist that we studied this half term. 

We have loved doing our challenges this week. Our favourite was the construction challenge of building a tower all talk as you! 

This week in Computing we learnt about E-safety. To consolidate our learning we did a quiz on Kahoot. The children absolutely loved this!

This week, we had our final Geography lesson about the United Kingdom. As a fun challenge, we used play dough to model the four countries of the UK, carefully shaping each one and placing flags with the name of the country and its capital city.

Rowan class have been super mathematicians when counting in 5s, using practical equipment to support their learning.   

 Rowan class enjoyed writing their letters, imagining they had a dragon and needed advice from a friend. 

 This week, Rowan class enjoyed making the UK out of dough and labelling the capital cities, physical and human landmarks and attractions. 

 This week in Art we drew some beautiful African animals inspired by our artist Xgaoc’o X’are. We traced them from our books onto tracing paper ready for our lesson on printing next week.
