Year 2 Blog 2025/26

We have had a positive start to the term this week! We have attended a music concert in English as a hook for our new unit on the Bear and the Piano, we have created a timeline of historical events and begun to look at the work of Mary Anning in History and started our pizza making unit in DT.   

We have had a fantastic first week back in Willow Class. We attended a class concert to begin our new English topic, have started learning about equal parts in Maths and made a class timeline in History!

 Rowan class are in search of some old newspapers for when our learning is a little messier! If you have any spare Mrs Downer would be very appreciative! Thanks in advance. 

 Last week in Rowan Class, we had our RE day. We talked a lot about change and the act of forgiveness. We completed a circle time activity and practised saying sorry and forgiving each other. 

st week, Rowan class had a lovely afternoon painting beautiful still life artwork. We recapped the artists that we have been learning about and then thought about how they might inspire us with our final pieces.

Today we have been talking about all of the changes that we might see in our lives. These are the ideas that we came up with together!

 Today Rowan class enjoyed completing tally charts as part of our data topic. We collected the data then discussed the results. 

 Last week, Rowan class enjoyed making secondary colours. It was lovely to see so much creativity with how the children made the different colours and tones. A lovely afternoon had by all.
