Willow Class Osborne House trip.

Image
We had such a lovely day on our trip to Osborne house. We started the day with a tour around the house, where we learnt lots of facts about the way that Queen Victoria lived. Our favourite room was the big dining room, where we counted 18 chairs at the table! We then put our little legs to the test with a sunny walk to the Swiss Cottage, where we had a tour of the Museum. We went on a hunt to find lots of different artefacts, including a 5 legged deer! After lunch we had a Victorian Explorer workshop, where we even got to dress up as Queen Victoria’s 9 children. It was a brilliant day enjoyed by all children and staff!

Bathing Machine Designs

In DT today we designed our own bathing machines inspired by the features of Osborne House. We discussed the fine detail in the ceilings, the large statues and sculptures around the house and the colours of the rooms. Queen Victoria loved the colours red, gold, pink and blue. We noticed the special VA initials as we walked around the house so we tried to incorporate those into our designs. They turned out brilliantly and we even practiced trying to make our bathing machines 3D.
